Striped Bass

Striped bass action is heating up on the Sacramento River as spring transitions into early summer. Anglers are seeing strong numbers of fish migrating upriver, especially around the Colusa, Verona, and Tisdale areas. Most stripers are ranging from 18 to 24 inches, with a solid mix of larger fish in the 10 to 20-pound class showing up daily.

Live bait like minnows and pile worms are producing steady results, while artificial lures such as swimbaits, jerkbaits, and topwater plugs are generating aggressive strikes during early morning and late evening hours. Trolling deep-diving plugs has also been productive in the deeper channels. Water clarity is good, flows are steady, and conditions are lining up for continued excellent striper fishing throughout the month.

The Trout fishing on the Sacramento River has been awesome! We have been really successful in hooking into a good number of Rainbow Trout both on conventional tackle and using fly gear. The Sacramento River fishing has been excellent this week, and our customers have been having a great time on the water. Today, we are excited to report that our customers have been able to catch a good number of Sturgeon.

The Sturgeon have been biting well in the deep waters of the Sacramento River. Our customers have been using a combination of live bait and lures to attract these fish, and they have been successful in catching them. The Sturgeon have been ranging in size from medium to large, with some measuring up to 6 feet long.

Overall, Sacramento river fishing has been great, and we expect it to continue in the coming days. Our experienced guides will be happy to take you out on the water and help you catch some of these amazing fish.
